Mingoes advance to semi-final
After a late night match, the University of The Bahamas women's volleyball team got some rest in and dismantled the Abaco Rebels 2-0 to advance to the semi-final of the Battle of the Islands tournament at the Eight Mile Rock Gymnasium in Eight Mile Rock, Grand Bahama.
UB took care of the Rebels 21-15 and 21-14 to advance to play a familiar foe in the Panthers.
It was a 9-5 lead for UB early on in the first set. UB controlled the rest of the set to win 21-15. The second set saw Mingoes controlling early again with an 8-4 lead. They extended the elad to 14-7 before finishing off the Rebels 21-14 to win both sets.
The two-set win saw them finishing with a 4-2 win/loss on sets to finish second in Group B. They will play Panthers tomorrow at noon for a chance at advancing to the final.
