Newcomer jumper leads Mingoes in season opener

Newcomer Davia Musgrove lead the The University of the Bahamas women's track and field team as the team opened action at the 2024 T-Bird Flyers Track and Field Meet at the Thomas A. Robinson Track and Field Stadium.

Musgrove secured the top finish in the open girls triple jump with a leap of 10.55 meters (34' 7-1/4"). She was also in the pit for the long jump event where she finished second. She recorded 4.86m (15' 11-1/4").

"I did a great job and put my best foot forward when I came first place in the triple jump," Musgrove said.

Malynte Clarke finished in the open women's 200m in 26.29. Katranel Dean finished fourth in 27.0 seconds and Nancy Joseph took fifth in 27.3 seconds.

Michal Bullard won her heat in the under-20/open girls 400m in 1:01.35 and placed third overall.

"I tried to get out hard and use my legs on the back stretch.  I gave it my all from the 100m," Bullard said.

Malynte Clarke, Jackson Ozias, Lhevinne Jospeph and Michal Bullard made a hit in the mixed 4x400m relay. They clocked 3:45.87 to win that event. Finishing second to them was the Mingoes team of William Minors, Katranel Dean, George Minnis and Nancy Joseph. That team ran 3:50.14.
