McDonald gets school tours underway

The University of The Bahamas women's softball team revamp continued with head coach Yvana McDonald completing two high school tours by doing an informational session about the university and the women's softball team.
The Government Secondary Schools Sports Association softball is currently in season and she will be at the games speaking to coaches, and parents/guardians about the softball program.
Also with her was UB's recruiting officer, Travis Minnis.
Those two schools that were visited were Queen's College and St. Andrew's School on Thursday and Friday respectively.
McDonald said both sessions went great with the St. Andrew's team.
"It was a great moment to interact with the senior girls softball team," McDonald said. "Being able to hear their concerns and seeing their faces light up as it said UB can be a viable option. Their 12th graders are anticipating joining us for our tryouts in the morning.
McDonald was in familiar territory at QC, having served as the assistant softball coach there. She said it was an informative session.
"I had the opportunity to speak to not just softball athletes but athletes in general as the opportunity as to what it looks like the University offers from a recruitment standpoint with grades, coaching and scout amongst other aspects that gives you an opportunity to be a proud future Mingoe and student of UB.
Student-athletes from both schools were fielding a lot of questions about the softball team and the university in general. The feedback from both schools has coach McDonald looking forward to a great season in the Fall.
McDonald will continue her BAISS school tour next week as they are not in season.
