Mingoes miss out on playoffs

The University of The Bahamas Mingoes women's softball needed a win against the eventual pennant winners, the Sunshine Auto Wildcats to play a sudden death game for the final playoff spot. That did not happen as they fell 11-2 to the Wildcats to close their season and dashed their playoffs hopes.
The Mingoes finished the season with a 4-10 win/loss record on the season.
Catcher Syazha Kelly led the way for them when she went 1-for-1 and also brought home one run. She also scored one run. Right fielder Sydney Charles also went 1-for-1.
It was a strong start for the Mingoes who took a 2-0 lead at the top of the first inning with Kelly and center fielder Nabria Hamilton coming home. The bottom of the first inning saw the Wildcats coming away with 10 runs and never looked back. They led 10-2 at the end of the first inning after the Mingoes pitching and defense were not crisp.
The rest of the game saw the Mingoes offense coming up empty.
