UB takes down Avengers in nail-biter
The University of the Bahamas men's basketball team left the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium with a narrow 84-83 victory over the Airport Authority Avengers.
Leading the way for the Mingoes was Erquantae Edgecombe with 24 points and eight rebounds. Three other UB players scored in double digits – Jerehemiah Miller (19 points), Gabriel Styles (14) and Theodore Grant (10 points).
Mingoes used a strong fourth quarter to wear down the Avengers with a 28-15 advantage. It made up for their slow start in the game where they were outscored 27-14 in the first quarter.
Rus-Shorn Strachan led the Avengers with 26 points while Kristen Munroe had a double-double with 14 points and 17 rebounds.
Next up for the Mingoes is a matchup against the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services Challengers November 21, 7 p.m.
