Mingoes comeback too late against Rangers

Despite 24 points from Theodore Grant, the UB Mingoes lost to the Real Deal Rangers 74-72 in the UB showcase series Thursday at The Kendal Issacs Gym.

Trailing by 18 points in the 2nd quarter, UB Mingoes managed to make a come back in the 4th quarter tying the game 70-70 with under 2 minutes left.

Grant led the Mingoes with 24 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists and Jeremiah Miller scored 22 points and 6 rebounds to lead the team. Center Gabriel Styles scored 15 points and pulled down 6 rebounds in the lost.

Grant said the team started off with low intensity on offense and defense. "We couldn't find our rhythm in scoring in the first," he said. "We started to pick up our intensity on defense in the second and that generated our offense and made a difference".

For The Rangers, Joshua Anderson led all scorers with 33 points and 4 rebounds and QuiAndre Robinson scored 15 points and 5 rebounds.
